Some illustrations from class, my teacher's been asking me to work on turning the model into a character and pushing every drawing more and more. It's a fun excercise especially as the model becomes more costumed with each pose. These were each about 10-15 min's.

Collabo

Here's a collaboration I did with my buddy Phil. Since he's into tattooing I thought it'd be cool if we did some kind of collaboration, so he gave me this awesome line drawing he had laying around and I couldn't help but color it in for him. He's real happy with it and wants to do a couple more and make some prints. So maybe I'll have those up here in the near future.

Here's an idea for a pair of butt kickin' siblings. The evil scientist dudes are after them, hence their nasty wrinkled skin. Isn't that like Spy Kids? Whatever...Man this blog's getting way too digital for my liking! Time to get nice and raw.

I found a stupid picture on google while looking for blacklight reference. These thrill seekers seem to be at some sort of ping pong competition. Anyways, I did these studies because I'm gona use them to do my own piece involving a blacklight in the near future!

Post-It's

In an attempt to get better at getting an idea on paper concisely, I started doodling on post-it notes every morning before work. They ranged from reminders for errands, to doodles from photographs, to caricatures, to just good ol' fun drawin! Some of them even inspired a current project.

Dr. No's Fantasy Show

Art show today! Here's the new pieces I did for the show. I guess as a collective the theme is DreamGirls or something. I had a blast doing these and the best part was researching the costumes for some of these guys. These are all 9x12, marker on FREE marker paper I scored at CalArts at the end of the year when they were giving away supplies! Again the show is tonight July 25th @ the Ruby Room in Hillcrest @ 8PM, and the venue is 21 & up. I'll fix this post once I have photoshop because I hate my stupid scanner and the gray area it leaves on the edges. The venue told us we're not gonna be able to hang stuff on the wall so we're gonna have to get creative with displaying these. I'm gonna try to sell these at the show or maybe set up an online thing if that doesn't work out so well. Can't wait to see what my teammates came up with!:) Happy Comic-Con weekend!
